Closure of Old Great North Road through the village

Highways will be fixing the road drainage between The Crown and Home Farm on 18/19th December. This will entail channels being cut across the road to enter a chamber by The Crown. The road through the village will therefore be closed from Ryhall Road crossroads to Tolthorpe Road. Delays and inconvenience can be expected. A1 southbound closures 27 November to 17 December

A1 southbound closures 27 November to 17 December

Highways Agency have just issued the latest closures for the repair of the A1 Southbound. All these will take place overnight.

Location The A1 southbound between A151 and A606.

Reason Road repairs

Schedule Expect disruption everyday between 20:00 and 06:00 from 27 November 2017 to 3 December 2017 and from 20:00 and 06:00 from 4 December 2017 to 17 December 2017.

Good Neighbour Scheme

The Rural Community Council are offering support and funding needed to set up a Good Neighbour Scheme in Great Casterton.

This is supported by the Parish Council, The Church, The Crown, The CE Primary School, Casterton College, and Stamford Vets.

Its all about linking with neighbours who may be in need. We are looking for volunteers.

Remembrance Sunday Poppies

Remembrance Sunday Poppies

Remembrance Sunday is on 12th November this year.

As usual the village will be commemorating this at a Service in the Parish Church. There are thirteen names of the Fallen on the War Memorial and they will be remembered this year with large poppies fixed to the street lights along the Old Great North Road through the village.

A1 Overnight closures October 23rd Onwards

A1 Overnight closures October 23rd Onwards

Overnight roadworks are starting on the southbound A1 and will last for the next few months. The road will be closed from 8.00pm to 06.00am during this period. There will be a long detour in operation from Grantham Via A607 to Melton Mowbray and back to the A! via A606

Green bin charging to start April 2018

Green bin charging to start April 2018

The Parish Council has just been informed that Rutland

County Councillors have approved the introduction of an

annual charge for green waste services, to come into

effect from April 2018.

The charge will be £35 per Green Bin
